20,910 and counting.

Hiking craze.
Thursday, Debbie and I ventured out to our regular walking spot at Harvey Bear.  However, instead of doing our normal 2 mile walk around the pasture, Debbie decided we needed a challenge. We hiked up the hill and made it to the top! When we got to the top there were two serial killers (according to Debbie) eating sunflower seeds.  She was certain that if there were not two us, one of us would have been killed.  I assured her serial killers do not eat sunflowers seeds - too messy. There was also a beautiful view of the lake and a sun shiny day. Do we go back the way we came or head down the hill on a new path?
You guessed it, we took the path less traveled. We thought we would never get to the bottom. We encountered a few more hills, some cows, and had to excuse our selves around them as they crossed the trail, and a lot of cow dung, such a wonderful aroma.  At one point Debbie suggested we lay in an X formation and someone might come rescue us - no such luck.  We made our way to the bottom, just in time for me to make a MAD dash to the porta potty. (It was almost Monster Truck #2)
We ended up doing about 6 miles- and had a fun time doing it!

Saturday, I hiked 10.5 miles up the PG&E trail at Rancho San Antonio.  This was quite the acomplishment for me.  My goal was to make it to the top by this summer - so I did it!  I will not mention the 3 times I almost quit and was passed by 70 year olds (not even breathing hard).  But the important thing is I made to the top and am alive to tell about it. When we got to the bottom our pedometer said 20,910 steps!

So, looks like all my adventures paid off this week.  Weigh in 255.8. (Down 1 lb)

  1. Good job, Dorothy! I agree with Debbie, most likely serial killers or molesters!
