Green Thumb?

I have never been very good at growing plants, or keeping them alive even after they have grown. I have discovered the "drip system" is the secret to keeping my plants alive. I was wandering outside the other day, and was proud of all my live plants and how good they looked.



These geraniums do not have a drip system, so I have had to remember to water them. They have made it almost 2 weeks! Yay geraniums!


I read that certain herbs keep the bugs away, so I planted a crap load of them. We seem to have a fly problem in the courtyard. They drive me crazy. Unfortunately, the flies are not bothered by the herbs. On the bright side, they smell great and look pretty.


A lot my plants have come from my mom. She is an AWESOME gardener and definitely has a green thumb! She loves to be in the garden, something that was not passed down. She grows the plants until they are strong and healthy. Then she transplants them to Carlyn Ave in hopes the drip system will keep them alive. She always checks on them, trims them, and adds some extra water when she is here. Thanks Mom...you RULE!



My green thumb post would not be complete without a photo of our botanical garden in the backyard. This is more my style! These plants are indigenous to California and are drought resistant. I am just trying to do my part! ;>

My Boys

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of playing with the Dylan and Luke while Melissa and Doug went to dinner. We (I) had a great time.





Baby Luke started out the evening with projectile (chunky) vomit all over the stroller, himself and the floor. Poor guy! But we wrapped up the evening with crackers, blueberries and lots of smiles!





Dylan had a relaxing evening of watching Wall-e, eating crackers, and stopping for a quick smile for the camera.

Hope they will come back soon!

Mammogram Madness

Yes, Today I had my first mammogram! Boy was it fun! No, Keith did not participate (see photo above).

After all the stress of everyone telling me how bad it was, and how much it would hurt, it was a piece of cake. Yes, they squeeze your boob between a metal plate and a plastic plate but it does not hurt. So, this post is solely to ease your mind when it comes to the feared mammogram, have no fear!

They're BBBBAAAACCCKKKK!

OK, so I have good news and bad news.

GOOD NEWS: I found Pudding Pops!!!!!!!!!!!! As I meandered thought the isles of the Windmill Market in San Juan Bautista (taking my time, as to not rush back to work), my eyes fell upon the Popsicle section. I was looking for my favorite summer treat, BIG STICKS; they take me back to elementary school. On Thursdays, after hot lunch, they would sell Popsicles for $.25. I always got the Big Stick, the delicious flavors of pineapple and strawberry swirled together in sugary goodness.
Windmill market does not carry big sticks...but they do have pudding pops!

BAD NEWS: They are NOT good! :< Once the pudding pop discovery was made I rushed to pay for my lunch and headed back to the office to put my coveted pudding pops in the freezer before they melted. I ate my ham and cheese sandwich and then ripped into the box. What flavor would I try first? I decided upon the vanilla chocolate swirl. They were a different shape, and did not seem to have the beloved icy coating. I still had high hopes. Once I bit in to receive the full deliciousness, I was immediately disappointed. These were not the pudding pops I remembered. Sadness fell over my taste buds. I am left with only the memory of my sweet sweet pudding pops.

I guess our campaign to bring back pudding pops needs to be more specific...Bring back the GOOD ones! (sigh)

We survived the Swine Flu!

We had a great time in Mexico with our friends...Alyssa did such a great job of posting our vacation. I am sending you to her blog for the re-cap. If I get any other funny/cute pictures I will post them too!
