VASONA
Spent last Saturday with D&L...
The D'amico family met us at Oak Meadow Park a.k.a Vasona. We had a very traditional pizza picnic, rode the train, the merry go round, and had some ice cream...(well, D&L had popcorn and lemonade).

The Golden Arches
Had McDonalds for lunch today. Ya ya, I know, not conducive to loosing weight.

Another One Bites the Dust
Yet another IUI (insemination) gone bad. Last month was our fifth IUI. We started IUI's at the beginning of 2009 with my regular OB. We did three of them using Clomid (oral medication), but because it was not effective we graduated to the Fertility Clinic... WHAT FUN!
The fertility clinic has better (stronger) drugs that supposedly work better. The teach you give yourself injections and you shoot yourself up in the stomach for a week or so. For the bargain price of appox. $3000.00 you too can give your self shots take lots of yummy meds and loose a couple of pounds due to diarrhea. Raise your hand...who wants in?!
Due to cost of this fun, I said we would only try it twice, and if it did not work we would wait, save and continue with IVF. However, I really just want to try ONE more time. I feel like they really did not understand how my body was reacting to the dosages until this last time. I also know, that I cannot become one of those desperate people that just goes crazy and will do ANYTHING to try and get pregnant. I am really trying to be level headed and smart about it - It is hard when it is something so attached to my heart. So, one more time - that is it!
Although my pregnancy test on Friday was negativo (throw in Spanish to lighten it up). I was not as CRAZY this time around. I did not buy 6 pregnancy tests to take at home everyday for the blood test at the doctor's office. I did not lay really still to see if I could feel something in there. I did not talk to my stomach in hopes of coaxing it to become pregnant. Yes, people I do crazy shit! All in all it was a pretty sane run.
So, my very loving and patient husband has had to endure some rough months, and he is on board to continue this roller coaster. My family and friends are great, supportive listeners and the best cheering section a girl could have. Fasten your seat belts, we will be preparing for crazy in one month!
Random thought of the day:
If you have been inseminated and do not yet know if you are actually pregnant, can you still park in the expectant mothers parking spaces at Vally Faire? Well, I mean if there are like a few of them empty?

As most of you know, (because I know you check my blog everyday!) I have been a little bored with the blogging...but, I think I am getting my second wind. Blog Hiatus
I have not been so inclined to brag about my very exciting life lately. I can tell you have all been waiting by your computers to know "What is Dorothy doing today?"
(This Blog is especially for Alyssa who pointed out that I have not blogged in 2 months!)
Hmmm lets see.
-Went on a relaxing getaway with Keith, 2 nights in Monterey and 3 nights in Santa Barbara. Napped, read, ate...PERFECT vacation!
-Spent and evening in the Emergency Room, when I thought I had broke my arm. I tripped over Wrigley (jes & les'monster dog) and ate it hard. In the end, I just had pinched a nerve & got a whole lot of drugs!
-Spent Memorial Day at Pine Mountain Lake...fell in love with it.
- Did our first IUI round with injectables - made one big follicle, but no baby. (At least there was a response - better luck next time!)
- Still have been working out, but have maintained my weight since last posting. "Still up in the gym just working on my fitness...dorothylicious"
