Eggspert Decorating

Hope everyone had a Happy Easter!! I thought I would share some of the beautiful egg creations of 2009. My mom made an Easter basket for me and Keith, she hand decorated eggs with our names on them.

After bunch, Easter afternoon, we all colored eggs again with my mom. Julie made the 'Keith egg' complete with, visor, green eyes and attached cell phone. Funny!!

Cupcakes Part II

The Cupcake Shop in Morgan Hill has made it's debut! Melissa made a trip there (X2) yesterday, only to leave with the last 2 cupcakes. (Her first trip there, she left with none) So we made a plan to guarantee cupcake success!

After some searching, I finally found the cupcake cubbie downtown. The place was painted with pink and white stripes with shabby chic decor - Very cute!
The cupcakes were pretty good! They were better than Kara's at Santana Row, but not quite a great as Sprinkles. The raspberry/vanilla and chocolate/marshmellow were both yummy, I look forward to trying the other flavors!

Pudding Pop Update!

First, I made the cook n' serve pudding, poured it into the Popsicle molds and froze it overnight. They looked really good in the freezer and I was very excited to see how they turned out.

They were very difficult to get out of the molds and I ended up breaking the blue one :<.

When I finally got it out, I was excited at the outer ice on the pop. However, I quickly discovered that it was NOT the icy coating we have all grown to love. To my disappointment, it did not taste like a pudding pop. It was just icy frozen pudding, not creamy, not delicious. Oh well, back to the drawing board!

Pour Some Sprinkles on Me... In the name of LOVE!

I did it! I had my very first Sprinkles cupcake! Did it live up to all the hype? OH YES! I have heard the Sprinkles cupcakes were the best, but really I thought how great could they be? I mean it is cupcake. I have been to Kara's in Santana Row, and Icing on the Cake in Los Gatos and were not impressed with their $4.50 cupcakes. (Although, Icing on the Cake does make many many other VERY delicious things!)But I have to say the drive to Palo Alto was SO worth it!

We celebrated Melissa's birthday yesterday, So, I decided to surprise her with her favorite cupcakes and, in addition, found a new love. I normally do not like red velvet, but their red velvet is so scrumptious! The vanilla is also another favorite! So if you are ever at/near the Stanford Mall, stop by and enjoy a little ball of sugary heaven! mmmmm

Sweet, Sweet Puddin'

I have never been a big fan of pudding. But, a couple of months ago I decided to make some instant cream cheese pudding. I had some cookies and rasberies and thought this would make a scrumptious dessert. I was wrong. I really think instant pudding is gross!
So, the other day Melissa asked me if I remembered Pudding Pops. DO I REMEMBER PUDDING POPS? UM...YES they are sooo Yummy! So I was thinking about why I hate instant pudding but love pudding pops.
I got a wild hair and decided that I would make cook and serve pudding. Warm, creamy chocolate fudge pudding is as delicious as a pudding pop. So, my next project, is to freeze it and try to make pudding pops. I AM BRINGING BACK THE PUDDIN'!
Note to all: Cook and Serve Pudding NOT Instant Pudding

Another one bites the dust!

Please pray for the birds that live behind our house. It seems as if a few of them are on a suicide mission. Yesterday, while Keith and I were at work ANOTHER bird (or maybe the same one, who knows.) flew into our window AGAIN. No bird bodies have been found, I cannot imagine that Wyatt would eat any bird bodies as he is a very picky eater and does not like feathers. So, let's hope that this is the last of the bird prints on the window!

(Second bird body print is visible on the upper right of the existing bird print - wings are hard to see, as it was not very sunny when I took the picture.)

I just had to add a picture of Wyatt to show you how innocent looking he is and how he could never hurt a little pigeon. hehe

Stained Glass?

Keith and I were surprised to find that our family room window had a new lovely look. It seems that a large, not so smart bird, had a run in with our window. When the sun shines through you can perfectly see the outline of his (I assume it was a male...because, well, you know) head, body and wings. This window is NOT easy to get to and will not be cleaned for a while, as we need to hire someone to do it. Keith was very excited at he prospect that dirt would start accumulating on the grease, guts, & grossness and soon it would be a well defined bird print. I, of course, am not at all excited about this. However, I am curious to see what happens. Whether it will go away or get worse. I will keep you posted.
