Q TIME

I really love backyard BBQ's.
I especially love them when everyone comes, hangs out and stays late.
It is always a great time to sit, drink, eat, drink, chat, drink, chase kids, drink, you get the picture.

Labor Day Lovin'

We were lucky enough to get an invite to the Wagner Beach house for Labor Day!
I LOVE THE BEACH!!!
We spent the whole weekend eating junk food, laying around reading, playing Words with Friends (see 'Addiction' post), enjoying the beach, and we even played a friendly game of Pictionary (GIRLS RULE!!).  Thanks for the fun times friends!

Melissa and I deep in thought with Words with Friends.
Charlie and I sharing a Beach moment. (We are in love)

Oh, What a feeling...

I purchased  my first book on my ipad.
I was hesitant to participate in this ebook business.
As a new reader ( I used to only read magazines) I love to hold my paper book, turn the dry brownish pages and place my bookmark inside.  I love to see how the space between the cover of my book and the bookmark grows as I get more and more into the story. I love to carry my book around to show the world that, yes, I AM a reader. This makes me feel accomplished and worldly.
But now I have been sucked in to the ebook world.  I can read in the dark, I can make the font so big that I do not need to wear glasses, and it seems to get me through chapters so much faster.  Of course, this leads to me needing to buy more books, but it also leads to me enjoying more books!  So, another shout out to my ipad...I LOVE YOU!

What is that smell...

There has been a weird smell in my car for a couple of weeks now.  I smelt like rotten food or maybe like a Tupperware container that had been rotting away in the sun.  I looked through my car, and removed anything that I thought could be making this aroma.
Finally I decided it just needed to be aired out, so I left the windows open and still there was something brewing.
Last night I found it!
Several weeks ago I went to he farmers market with a friend.  She purchased some zucchini and when we got home, she could not find them.  We concluded that she must have dropped the bag somewhere along the way.  (Crap...there goes $4). So, she went home and I went on my merry way.
Last night, while I was looking for my lost checkbook,( if you have seen it let me know) I found the missing bag of vegetables.  Hidden deep under the passenger seat was a gooey mash of moldy zucchini. Eureka the smell is gone! (Still missing the checkbook :<)
It never occurred to me to look for food under the seats, because 1. I always put my lunch in the front seat in a bag, so it would it very difficult for anything to make it under the seat and 2. Because I did not buy the vegetables and I quickly forgot that they were missing and could possible have been the culprit.

So, although this is gross, I assure you my car is now somewhat sanitary.

Tech

Keith's parents came down last weekend to celebrate Keith's 35th birthday! (Today is is REAL birthday...Happy Birthday Spanky!) We wanted something fun to do and since it was Keith's birthday he choose the Genghis Khan exhibit at the Tech Museum.
Although the exhibit was interesting and we now know little more about Genghis Khan, I was disappointed by the the lack of actutual artifacts related to GK himself.  They had many artifacts from his time and even a real mummy (that was cool). I am not sure I would pay $25 to go again.  The rest of the museum was fun to see, we watched the kids playing on all the exhibits, and even did some playing ourselves.  Next time we decided we want to go and see the IMAX movie.

We followed up our museum visit with lunch at McCormicks & Schmicks's downtown. This was one of the worst meals I have had. So bad, I did not even eat it...yes, you read right, I, Dorothy, did not eat my lunch! I DO NOT recommend it!

Overall it was nice spending time with parents, and getting out of the house for a new adventure.  Next adventure i think should include a massage of some kind.  Just saying.

Views

Some days I am just not up for working.
I really try.
I come in,
check my email,
look at my in-basket,
and decided if I  should work or maybe check Facebook.
Facebook usually wins.
I follow up with blog updates check to see if anyone has posted anything new.
Then I re-evaluate working.
So, more or less, I can burn through a couple of hours.
Recently we moved office buildings, and I finally got a window to the outside world.YAY
This is my lovely view!

Yes, I know it is a parking lot and an aluminum building, but there is sun air at my fingertips.

I also share close quarters with another special lady...a.k.a. MOM...
This is the view from my desk..."Mom!...surprise smile..." So she got the surprise not the smile. Hehe!
Then she asked if I was 'Boggeling' her. She cracks me up...

Back to work, or maybe I will just check Facebook one more time.
Just kidding!

Wyatt...update

All is well with Wyatt.  He is home, not a 100%, but on his way.  The doctor diagnosed him with 'severe gastroenteritis".  He get to eat special wet food (gross for me), and take some (P.I.T.A.) meds that have to be dissolved in water and then syringed into his mouth, where it mostly just gets on everything around him. But, at least his is better.
(Keith  even gave up his spot on the couch because Wyatt wanted to lay there - SPOILED! - I kicked his butt out of my spot.)
